Recognize the tax benefits in the acquisition, ownership and disposition of real property and learn how the use of the property will determine the tax consequences. Discussions include four different uses of real property: principal residence, rentals, investment and second homes. Gain a general understanding of how tax basis is computed, including adjustments for improvements, section 1031, and depreciation. Identify tax withholding requirements on property sold by non-residents and learn the basics of "Like Kind" Exchanges. Class will be taught via ZOOM video conferencing.
