Deb Schonewill was raised in Colorado skiing, hiking the Rocky Mountains and grew up around her family of builders specializing in ski resort communities along with her father's company, Burnie’s Realty.

She first came to Maui in 1984 for a summer. She completed her degree of BS in Design/Interior Architecture from Arizona State University-June 1985. She then worked within large architectural firms in Scottsdale and Seattle for a total of 10 years. She was the Director of Interiors and held a leadership position. She specialized in commercial office space design, restaurants, healthcare and university projects during that time. 

In 1995 she started her own design firm on MAUI and for 18 years specialized in resort projects, luxury ground up homes as well as second homes and retail. She was the 7 yr Chair of Paia Main Street community, a ‘member at heart’ of Maui Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce. Did gratis work for the Maui hospital, and Big Brothers Big Sisters and created a park in her PAIA neighborhood. She also had a design firm in Steamboat Springs, Colorado; a ski resort community while providing educational and winter sports opportunities for her daughter. Her skills are developed to listen and understand the needs of all parties, foremost the client.

Deb is a full time licensed Maui realtor- equipped with the full breadth of the process of real estate. Assisting clients in evaluating assets existing strengths and future potential opportunities is a specialty of hers. Deb’s knowledge and long time experience of living and working on Maui, along with skills in architecture, design and construction are all a complement to the broad services of knowledge needed in real estate to serve the clients at a very high level.  

Deb loves and respects natural environments and works to protect them. She enjoys ocean sports, paddling, diving, boating, exploring, traveling, hiking and enjoying the many beautiful beaches and the culture of Hawaii.  Maui fits her casual yet professional - organized manner which will benefit the client during all stages of the process of buying and selling real estate.
